Senior Software Engineer
Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join us in the design and development of a cutting edge application server platform. If you have a passion for driving and building new technologies, here is a great opportunity to do that by joining our engineering team. The responsibilities include but are not limited to definition, design, and implementation of complex, multi-tier distributed software through all phases of the development cycle.
The candidate will need to demonstrate the following capabilities:
- Recent, hands-on experience designing and developing software components of varying complexity.
- Ability to analyze customer and marketing requirements and to convert these into use cases and technical requirements.
- Proven track record of shipping high quality, commercial software.
- Solid foundation in architectural principles such as designing for availability, scalability and performance.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong technical leadership and proven abilities to provide guidance to the other team members.
- Strong process orientation (UML, Workflow, N-Tier, etc.).
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Requirements:
- 5 to 10+ years experience with Object Oriented design and development.
- Current extensive (5+ years) hands-on experience developing commercial software using C++ or C# or Java.
- Recent hands-on experience with new component-based technologies like .NET, J2EE, and Web Services.
- Very solid understanding of database systems, SQL and data modeling principles. Experience with a range of commercial databases, such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc.
- Strong background in Web technologies, including HTML/DHTML, ASP.NET, JSP, JavaScript.
- Demonstrated success in working with highly scalable systems: Web and Back-End.
- Business pressure sensitivity
- B.S. or equivalent.
- Permanent Resident Visa or US citizenship
Preference given to candidates who have:
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and Extreme Programming.
- Expertise in OO methodologies and design patterns. Familiarity with UML, Rational Rose is a plus.
- Experience with Object Oriented Databases and Object-Relational mapping techniques.
